Dance Driven Events

Dance Driven was brought about by Colby Deemer upon his return to Alaska.  After performing and teaching professionally along the west coast, culminating in working in LA, and for dance event companies, he realized a some missing opportunities.

First, most dance event companies package multiple types of events together.  Colby feels by Dance Driven separating their events into separate weekends, the focus can be clear and more can be gained from each event weekend.  With our dance convention’s focus being on learning and community building, while our dance competition is focused on creating growth through healthy competition within the community.  We enjoy having each events focus clear and separated so that we can offer more and the dancers can gain more.

Colby also noticed, Alaska has a need for more dance events.  This has improved since Dance Driven’s inception which is exciting to see.  Here at Dance Driven, we advocate for studios and dancers to attend as many events offered in the state as possible, not just our events.  This is because we feel it is the most convenient way to get extra training from outside professionals when you take advantage of all Alaska dance events.

Here at Dance Driven we like to make sure that our instructors are both career dancers and career instructors.  So that our attendees can benefit both from the experience from having been at the highest levels within our industry as well as the experience of having seen great success specifically as instructors.  Which also, gives them the skill set to pass on the dance knowledge they have gained. This requires both passion for dance and a passion for teaching and inspiring youth dancers.  We love our teachers and feel they all embody this set of core values.
